Due to influence of information technology revolution on Library and Information Science field, various technologies are being widely used all around for betterment of library and information services. RFID technology is one step ahead to barcode system. RFID technology is being used in Library and Information Centers for security, tracking readers, quick inventory, and self check in and checkout etc. Present paper shows the technical details of RFID implementation in libraries of Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) in India and also the reasons behind not implementation in education institutes.Keywords
